Super Star Avenue is kind of like a Taiwanese American Idol except it's not in English and if Lin Yu Chun is any indication, the stars are portly little boys dressed in tuxedos and red bow-ties.



Looks aside, this kid's got pipes. He's like a more talented and less socially dysfunctional Susan Boyle and his take on 'I Will Always Love You' is so good, I don't even think Whitney could muster a better version nowadays.

Amazing LEGO Art by Nathan Sawaya

Nathan Sawaya, a 33 year old New York based artist builds a living out of Lego. He left his career as a lawyer and became a Lego artist. Sawaya's art is currently touring North American museums in a show titled 'The Art of the Brick'. It's the only exhibition that focus exclusively on Lego as an art medium.   According to journalist Scott Jones, Sawaya is a surrealist mash-up of forms and artists. Imagine Frank Lloyd Wright  with crossed Ray Harryhausen2   or Auguste Rodin3 crossed with Shigeru Miyamoto4 , and you start to get a sense of where Sawaya is coming from.

  Sawaya has also made a number of media appearance including CBS's The Late Show with David Letterman, NBC's Today Show, ESPN's Cold Pizza, Hollywood Reporter, Comedy Centrals' The Colbert Report and Variety. ¹

   Some artists use paint, others bronze – But for Nathan Sawaya he chooses to build his awe-inspiring art out of toy building blocks. LEGO® bricks to be exact. The former corporate lawyer quit his job in 2001 to focus on becoming the world's foremost LEGO artist.

With more than 1.5 million colored bricks in his New York studio, Sawaya's sculptures take many forms. ⁵

Inspired by LEGO's original version of the famous Vincent van Gogh painting, according to BrickArtist.com, Nathan Sawaya added his attempt at the project to his private collection in August 2005. At 36" x 45", the work required 7,956 LEGO pieces.
